We spent some time digging through the database to see how 2025 stacked up. Looks like the Knoword community stayed busier than ever! Let’s dive into the stats.

- One user created 540 packs this year! That’s a lot of packs 😰
Assignments
For many educators, assignments are a big part of the daily workflow. Here is a look at how they were used in 2025:
- 5,105 assignments created (a â–¼ 16% decrease from last year)
- 55% of them had a due date. Don’t procrastinate, people!
Here’s how those assignments were distributed across game modes:
- 3,110 (61%) assignments used our classic typing mode
- 1,513 (30%) used multiple choice
- 463 (9%) used Pairs
- 19 (<1%) used Image Match
Personalization
This year, we launched unlockable sprites and themes that allow you to customize your game. Between the two sprites we had available to unlock, more people chose Warne than Atlas, but it’s a pretty close race.
Speaking of a close race, let’s see which themes were most popular this year. 👀 While Water took the top spot, the margins between our top six themes were incredibly thin, with only three percentage points separating them.
We tried something different with sprites and themes this year. Seeing how much you’re all enjoying them makes us glad we did.

🥉 Audio clues
Adding audio to a pack unlocks a ton of cool new use cases, like aural testing, pronunciation, and listening exercises. This year, we added support for uploading your own audio files or generating lifelike speech from text.
Here are a few good examples of audio clues in action:
🥈 Pairs
This year we launched Pairs, a drag-and-drop matching game mode. It’s a great way to work through a pack using process of elimination and learning as you go. If you haven’t tried it yet, check out our announcement post to see what Pairs all about.
🥇 Conferences
Knoword was in attendance at our first teacher conferences this year! In fact, we attended six conferences, from our own backyard in Coquitlam, BC to Honolulu, Hawaii. It was incredible to meet so many teachers and students in person.
