October Pack Showcase
Letâs keep the good times (and new packs) rolling! Welcome to the latest installment of our pack showcase.
Just in time for Halloween, weâre bringing you a killer lineup: three new original packs and two awesome contributions from the Knoword community. From classic horror films to core science, thereâs something for everyone to learn and play.
Letâs get into it!
Horror Movie Frames
Halloween is around the corner, and we couldnât resist dropping something fun for the horror movie fans out there. This pack is a visual challenge: you see an iconic frame from a horror movie, and you guess the title of the movie. No tricks, only treats.
đ Pro tip: If you play on multiple choice or Image Match mode, it will make it a lot easier to think of the correct answers.
Hawaiian Wildlife
If you love nature or are planning a trip to the islands, this pack is for you. Get to know the native flora and fauna of Hawaii, and their Hawaiian names.
Similar to the last pack, every clue is an image. This time itâs an image of the plant or animal, and you must guess the name. This pack contains many creatures that are significant to Hawaiian culture.
- If you play on multiple choice, Image Match, or pairs, you must select the Hawaiian name that matches each picture.
- If you play on classic mode, weâll accept the Hawaiian name or the common English name as a correct answer.
Understanding Demography
Explore key terms related to population studies and statistics with this high-quality pack created by Rochelle Baldwin. Thanks, Rochelle!
This is a fantastic resource for students in AP Human Geography, economics, or sociology. It focuses on the core technical vocabulary needed to discuss global population statistics and trends. Youâll master the differences between key concepts like emigration vs. immigration, and developed vs. developing countries. It includes essential measures such as total fertility rate and life expectancy, as well as major theories like the Theory of Demographic Transition.
States of Matter
This is a fundamental science pack created by community member Major Wheelock, designed to cover the essentials of introductory chemistry and physics. It functions as a flexible review or teaching tool for middle and high school teachers.
It tests both the common phases (solid, liquid, gas) and more advanced states like plasma and the Bose-Einstein Condensate. The pack hits all the key challenge areas for students, covering the six main phase transitions and important properties like density and compressibility.
Introduction to Algorithms
This is a perfect pack for anyone starting out in computer science or programming. It defines the core vocabulary youâll encounter in any introductory coding course. Youâll learn fundamental programming concepts like variables, loops, and conditionals; as well as terms related to planning and fixing code.
đ„ Fun fact: We made this pack as a demo at our booth at the Schools of the Future conference! A high school computer science teacher came by the booth and asked if Knoword could create a pack for his subject and grade level. We opened the pack generation dialog, typed the prompt âintro to algorithms for a high school computer science class,â and this is what it came up with!
That wraps up this monthâs pack showcase! We hope you enjoy playing through these packs and discovering some new favorites from the Knoword team and our community.
