August Pack Showcase
🌟 Spotlight
August 14th, 2025I just wanted to drop in to let you know about seven new packs that just dropped on Knoword, including three original packs from us and four special ones from our friends at Wirth (more on them below).
Over the next few months, we’re planning to publish 4-5 brand new original packs each month. We’ve got a wide range of topics planned, from pop culture and historical trivia to academic themes, so there will be something for everyone.
New original packs from Knoword
- Edible Mushrooms of the Pacific Northwest: This is an image-based pack that helps you learn what safe, edible mushrooms look like and helps you identify their species. We’re doing this for the Pacific Northwest, where we’re based, but the plan is to roll out “edible mushroom” packs for other parts of the world, too.
- Kids Show Characters: Also image-based, this pack is great for younger players who want to test their recognition of characters from their favorite TV shows. It’s also a fun way for parents to get to know their kids’ TV show characters better.
- Animal Sounds: On the Farm: The first in our “Animal Sounds” series, this pack is 100% audio-based. You’ll listen to noises made by a farm animal and guess what animal made each sound. This is also a great pack for younger students (grades 1-3), especially since most of the animals are simple words like “cow,” “pig,” and “cat,” making it great for new readers.
New packs from our friends at Wirth
For those who haven’t heard of them, Wirth is a social venture that sells hats to fund mental health counselling sessions for people who wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford them. We’re proud to partner with them to bring you some great new content.
- Cognitive Biases 101: This pack helps you get to know the different subconscious biases that affect the way we think and feel. You’ll learn about concepts like “confirmation bias,” “the Barnum effect,” and “groupthink.”
- Understanding Your Feelings: Building a vocabulary around feelings and emotions is key to accurately describing how you feel, which can lead to more constructive conversations about your mental state, whether that’s with a friend, family member, or professional. Understanding Your Feelings is a collection of three packs, each with 20-25 words. These packs are loosely based on the concepts in the book Atlas of the Heart by Brené Brown and cover a wide range of emotions, from positive and negative to complicated and nuanced ones.
