Pack Privacy and Sharing

By default, packs you create in Knoword are public. That means they’ll show up in search results, category listings, and your public profile (if enabled). But sometimes, you may want to keep a pack more private—while still being able to share it with specific people.

This guide explains how pack privacy works, how to control who sees your pack, and how to share your content when you’re ready.

Controlling pack visibility

When creating a pack, you’ll see the option to hide it from public listings. If selected, the pack won’t appear in search results, browse pages, or your public profile.

If you’ve already created a pack, you can update this setting at any time:

  1. Go to the My Packs page.
  2. Select the “Edit” action from the pack’s action menu (three dots).
  3. Click the “Edit details” button near the top right corner of the page.
  4. Check or uncheck “Hide this pack from public listings” near the bottom of the pack settings form, and then save your changes.

For a full walkthrough of creating a pack, see our guide on creating a pack.

Sharing a private pack

Even if a pack is hidden from public listings, it’s still fully playable by anyone with the link. That means you can share it directly with students, peers, or collaborators without making it public.

To get a shareable link:

  1. Visit your My Packs page.
  2. Open the pack actions menu (three dots on the pack card).
  3. Click “Copy link”.
  4. Paste the link wherever you want—an email, class portal, chat app, etc.

Using your public profile

If you want to share all your packs, collections, and bookmarks in one place, you can enable your public profile in your account settings.

Before enabling your profile, you’ll need to set a unique username. Once enabled, you’ll have a public page at a custom URL that shows:

It’s an easy way to showcase your Knoword content, especially if you’re sharing with students or fellow educators.

📌 Keep in mind: Only packs that are visible in public listings will appear on your public profile.
