1-minute Assignments explainer video
New to Knoword, or just haven’t had the chance to try out Assignments? We’ve put together a 1-minute explainer video to walk you through it! In just 75 seconds, you’ll learn why teachers love our Assignments feature, from assigning custom vocabulary packs to tracking class progress. When you’re ready to dive deeper, check out our full Assignments guide in the knowledge base for extra tips and tricks.
Sharing made simpler with QR codes
While chatting with a teacher recently, we learned how they share links to online tools with their younger students. They’d generate a QR code using a different website, project it on a screen in class, and have students scan it with their tablets—a few extra steps just to get to the right link.
So naturally, we concocted something new in Knoword to make sharing simpler! Now, from any pack’s action menu, just select Get QR code, and—presto!—a QR code appears, ready to scan. This feature works the same way for assignments, so you can share both packs and assignments without leaving Knoword. Just project the QR code, and let students scan their way into the learning zone.
Other improvements and bug fixes
- Pack search by author: Now you can search for packs by their creator’s name. If you enjoyed a pack and want to see what else that creator has made, just type their name into the search bar. Teachers can also use this to help students quickly find packs they’ve made.
- Assignment details page: We moved the term performance overview above the submissions table. This change makes it easier to see class performance metrics in assignments with lots of submissions without having to scroll for ages.
- Duplicate submissions bug fix: If a student opened a new tab and the game ended in another tab, duplicate assignment submissions could occur. We fixed this ghostly glitch, so everything’s back to normal now.
- Microsoft authentication fix: Our Microsoft account sign-in feature was temporarily unavailable, but it’s back in working order.
We hope these Halloween updates add extra fun to your classroom. Whether you’re trying the spooky vocabulary pack or using the new QR code feature, Knoword is here to support your teaching. Stay tuned for more tricks and treats ahead! 🎃
