New Features for Assignments
Since launching Knoword Assignments a few weeks ago, it has been amazing to watch as teachers have discovered new fun and creative ways to engage with their students. To keep that momentum going, I wanted to share a few updates and improvements we’ve been working on for Knoword Assignments.
Export options abound
First, we’ve made it even easier for you to keep track of student submissions on assignments you have created. We’ve introduced a new button that lets you export student response scores as a spreadsheet. The spreadsheet contains the student’s name, number of attempted words, number of correctly answered words, score, and submission time. This way, submission scores can be easily explored in Excel, Google Sheets, or imported into any data visualization tool like Tableau or Looker.
To use this feature, navigate to your assignments page and click on one of the assignments that you have created. If your assignment already has submissions, you’ll see two buttons in the top right corner of the submissions chart that look like this:
XLSX
CSV
Click on the button for your preferred format to download your data. It’s as simple as that!
Student submissions
Second, students that have registered for a Knoword account can now view and replay all of their past assignment submissions in one place. After logging in, students can click their avatar in the top right corner of the screen, and they’ll see a link to “Submissions” under the “My Stuff” section.
On this page, we list all of the submissions a user has made. Each submission has a handy button to replay any previously-completed assignment. This makes it much easier to find your favourite assignments and run them back.
One last thing; for folks who are new to Knoword Assignments, I’ve recorded a quick video walkthrough. I’ve tried to keep it short and informative, so In the video, I cover how to create, share, play, and view submissions of Knoword Assignments.
That’s all I’ve got for today, but if you’re interested in receiving more product updates and previews of upcoming features, follow @knoword on Twitter and sign up for our mailing list.
Have a great week!
